Performs patient care and treatments as directed and supervised by the licensed nurse. May receive Nursing Delegation as defined in Montana Board of Nursing Rules 3. Assists patient/resident activities of daily living, such as baths, oral hygiene, ambulating and turning.
Obtains and records vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration and temperature. 4. Measures, records and provides for patient/resident: intake of food and fluid which includes partial and total assistance with feedings; output from bodily functions/specified drainage devices and collects specimens as directed by the licensed nurse/physician. 5. Identifies and anticipates problems and safety issues and initiates appropriate action. 6.
Demonstrates positive, supportive, and caring behaviors in communication with patient/resident, families, visitors, physicians, staff and others. 7. Takes responsibility for identification of own growth and development needs; meets all system and departmental educational requirements. 8. PURPOSE/DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Under general supervision of the Licensed Nurse or Physician assists in the delivery of patient/resident care. Works collaboratively with the Physician, RN, and the LPN to meet the physical, psychosocial, educational and spiritual needs of the patient/resident and family. May work in areas of the acute care hospital, physician clinic or the residential/long term nursing facility.
Completion of junior year of a baccalaureate nursing program OR Completion of the first year of an Associates degree nursing program Must supply verification of course completion with current skills competency checklist and current enrollment CPR Certification
