The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner at St. Anthony's Hospital assesses, develops, implements, and leads educational activities designed to grow, maintain, and improve the professional competence of clinical team members within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), and Hemodialysis departments. Serving as a key resource for onboarding, competency management, professional development, and lifelong learning, this role partners with nursing leaders and frontline team members to advance clinical excellence, support evidence-based practice, and strengthen specialty nursing expertise.
Through innovative education, mentorship, and professional development initiatives, the practitioner helps nurses build confidence, enhance critical thinking skills, and thrive throughout their careers while empowering team members to Make the Difference every day. Your Role Within the Team: Assess learning needs and develop educational programs that promote clinical competence and professional growth for ICU, CVICU, and Hemodialysis team members Facilitate specialty onboarding, orientation, competency validation, and ongoing professional development activities Lead educational initiatives that support quality, safety, patient experience, and clinical excellence goals Develop and deliver classroom, simulation, virtual, and hands-on learning experiences Serve as a resource and mentor for nursing staff, preceptors, charge nurses, and clinical leaders Support evidence-based practice, nursing certification, clinical advancement, and professional growth initiatives Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify educational opportunities and address practice gaps Evaluate educational outcomes and implement continuous improvement strategies based on performance metrics and organizational priorities Act as a positive change agent by supporting communication, engagement, innovation, and practice improvement Perform Registered Nurse functions and other duties as assigned, as needed
Required BSN with 3 years of clinical experience Current Registered Nurse licensure Critical care experience in ICU, CVICU, or a related specialty area Preferred Professional organization certification ANPD certification CCRN, CVRN, CDN, or other related specialty certification Experience in nursing education, staff development, precepting, mentoring, or clinical leadership Experience facilitating orientation, onboarding, competency validation, or professional development programs Experience in critical care and/or hemodialysis environments Location: St.
