and Responsibilities As our OB Tech, you will assist in the smooth daily operations of the Labor & Delivery unit, performing direct and indirect patient care and supporting surgical procedures. Every day you will assist with vaginal deliveries under RN and provider direction, function as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures, maintain supplies and equipment, and assist with Point of Care Testing and High Level Disinfection equipment.
You may also perform patient care duties such as vitals, hygiene, and basic care for antepartum, postpartum, and newborn patients, as well as clerical/business support tasks. To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical support skills in OB/GYN settings, meticulous attention to detail in patient care and equipment management, flexibility to perform varied tasks, and a commitment to our organizational mission and core values.
Functions as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures, demonstrating appropriate skill to scrub a variety of cases. Sets up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures. Performs appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation, before incision is closed, and as needed.
Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures by checking package integrity, indicators, and opening procedures. Prepares and sterilizes supplies and equipment used in procedures, and disposes of sharps/contaminated materials appropriately. May provide patient care, including comfort and hygiene measures, safety measures, transport, nutritional and elimination needs, and wellbaby care, such as bathing infants, bottle feeding, transporting, cord care, and weighing of infants.
PRN-Nights- 1800-0600-Variable Days of the week per volume and current unit needs. TBD during interviews with unit Manager. Per policy PRN requires a Min availability for 5 shifts in a 6 week schedule block and 2 holidays per yr.
