Job Summary and Qualifications An Occupational Therapist (OT) evaluates patient functional needs, creates tailored care plans, and delivers evidence-based treatments to help patients recover independence.
OTs track clinical progress, manage documentation, and educate families while collaborating with an interdisciplinary medical team. Core Responsibilities Patient Evaluation : Assess functional abilities, medical history, and home or acute care needs to establish clear recovery milestones. Treatment Execution : Administer therapeutic activities and daily living retraining to improve motor skills and cognitive function.
Progress Monitoring : Track physical or mental adaptations, revise care plans dynamically, and complete timely clinical documentation. Care Coordination : Partner with physicians, nurses, and physical or speech therapists to ensure safe patient discharge and transitions.
Train patients and family members on adaptive equipment, safety protocols, and home exercises Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Active state Occupational Therapist license (e.g., FL Dept of Health).
A min 1 year of work exp r equired , pref. in a hospital setting
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of hire.
