- Maintains a clean and safe physical environment for patients and staff. Responsible for between case cleaning, terminal cleaning and assisting with room turnovers. Assists in transporting and/or positioning of patients. Executes proper use, care and handling of equipment and supplies. Transports supplies and specimens to the operating rooms, sterile processing department, laboratory, Pathology, and x-ray departments as required. Maintains appropriate stock levels in assigned areas. Maintains effective relationships with co-workers, staff, and physicians while adhering to the Perioperative Services Policies and Procedures. Experience N/A Education High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration Basic Life Support Additional
General understanding of medical and aseptic techniques required. Effective interpersonal skills required to communicate with the nursing staff. In order to work effectively with patients, must have effective interpersonal and communication skills and be able to stand, walk, bend, lift at least 50 pounds, hear, speak, and see.
Minimum of one (1) year of hospital, operating room orderly assistant or attendant experience preferred. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
