What We're Looking ForJob Post Description:Novant Health Coastal Region is seeking an Ophthalmologist to diagnose, treat, and perform surgery on eye diseases, injuries, and vision problems, requiring comprehensive exams, prescribing corrective lenses/medications, performing procedures like cataract or laser surgery, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge and ensuring high-quality patient care.

MD or DO degree. Completion of an Ophthalmology residency. Valid, unrestricted state medical license.

Board certification (or eligibility) from the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO) preferred. Strong clinical skills, steady hands, and excellent communication. Responsibilities & Duties:Conduct comprehensive eye exams, vision tests, and interpret diagnostic results.

Diagnose and treat eye diseases (e.g., cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy) and traumatic injuries. Perform surgeries, including cataract, glaucoma, retinal, and laser procedures. Prescribe corrective lenses (glasses, contacts) and medications.

Educate patients on eye health and preventive care. Collaborate with optometrists, technicians, and other specialists. Maintain detailed patient records and stay current with ophthalmic advancements.
