OR Coordinator/ Scheduler - Surgery Scheduling

Education
✓High School Diploma or GED
Qualifications
✓One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred, in some departments may be required
✓Ability to read and write and perform duties following oral and written instruction.
✓Ability to work various shifts for extended periods as determined by the director
✓Ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
✓Principal Accountabilities
✓Assists the OR Environment/Holding Area Clinical Manager with managing departmental employees: provides daily performance feedback to employees as required, gives input into performance appraisals, conducts quality inspections, participates in interviews, and supervises employee training processes.
✓Inspects physical condition of facility and takes appropriate corrective actions.
✓As needed, will assist with physical preparation of patient and physical environment according to the age/needs of the patient/population served.
✓Transports and transfers patients as necessary.
✓Functions as a porter between departments ensuring required medical supplies, information, specimens, and products are delivered in a timely fashion.
✓Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
