The OR Equipment Technician, under the direction of the Registered Nurse, will participate as an integral member of the patient care team. The OR Equipment Technician performs multiple support functions directed toward improved efficiencies in the OR and positive patient care outcomes. All patient care team members are responsible to meet patient needs, demonstrate willingness to learn new skills, and foster a harmonious work environment in which high quality patient care and customer service is consistently provided.

Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities % TIME Is Essential Under close supervision, perform repetitive, technical laboratory procedures that require special training and skill typically with theoretical background in one scientific field 15% Yes Under close supervision, perform limited variety of repetitive standardized tests or procedures. 10% Yes Receives specimens/materials, ascertains their acceptability against established criteria, investigates incomplete or unacceptable submissions, and provides timely follow-up communication with appropriate individuals/departments/offices when materials are determined to be unacceptable or lack adequate information for billing or clinical processing 30% Yes May assist with the servicing of equipment and system . 5% Yes Input data into system . 5% Yes May assist with installation, operation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments. 5% Yes Maintains clean, safe work areas. 30% Yes REQUIRED

Req Knowledge of medical terminology.
