You’ll need
Certifications
✓Minimum 2 years as orthopedic technician, unless certified as an OTC by the National Board of Certification of Orthopedic Technologists.
✓Certified as an OTC by the National Board of Certification
Education
✓High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
✓Post-secondary certificate or associate's degree as orthopedic technician from a technology program
Qualifications
✓Previous physician office experience.
✓Eligible for staff privileges at hospitals where physician/surgeons work. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy and medical terminology. Competency in applying casts and splints and surgical technology.
✓3+ years of Orthopedic experience including casting, bracing, splinting, suture removal, pin removal, dressing changes and wound care

About the role
The Orthopedic Technician, while under the supervision of the physician/surgeon assists in rendering care and providing services to the orthopedic patient. The Orthopedic Technician is a specifically trained allied health individual in the field of orthopedic medicine.
