Job SummaryProvides physical therapy services under the plan of care established by a licensed Physical Therapist. Completes documentation and submits charges to support treatment while complying with laws and regulations of appropriate state and federal agencies and Joint Commission guidelines.

Be the differenceImplements treatment planFollows plan of care established by supervising physical therapist Assesses patient response to treatment and modifying treatment as neededDemonstrates proficiency and competency in clinical care in primary work areaReports changes in patient status to team members as appropriate Effectively communicates patient status with clinical staffDocuments all aspects of treatment in compliance with chart review audit components Treatment notes are clear, succinct and contain information regarding treatment progressionParticipates in team meetings and provides the necessary patient informationActively participates in patient/family education regarding progress and home programs as neededAppropriate abbreviations and medical terminology are utilized Participates in discharge planning of patients including provision of documentation supporting any additional discharge needsAttends staff meetings, team meetings, and mandatory in-services as scheduledCompletes assignments in a timely and thorough mannerAssists with care and maintenance of departmental equipment and suppliesCompletes charge/productivity documentation and enters information and charges in an accurate and timely mannerDemonstrates willingness to assist and is respectful of the rights of other team members Complies with department policies and proceduresConsistently demonstrates behaviors that support the purpose statement of the department and Prisma Health and demonstrates good judgement in the selecting the proper mode of communication which conveys a favorable image of the therapy department and Prisma Health.

Assumes any additional team/department responsibilities as assigned by department leadership Provide oversight to therapy aides, students and volunteersFunctions as mentor to new staff and supervises new graduatesParticipates in program development as requested by supervisor. Assists in developing procedures to execute programs effectively. If applicable, maintain program and identify changes as needed in order to remain successfulMeets the team/department productivity standardsComplies with the established standards of efficient scheduling to maintain appropriate levels of productivity.

Minimum RequirementsEducation - Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from a CAPTE accredited school Experience - No experience requiredIn Lieu OfNARequired Certifications, Registrations, LicensesBLSLicensed by Board of Physical Therapy Examiners required for team members working in South Carolina. / TN PTA required for team members working in Tennessee.
