You’ll need
Licensure
✓Current Florida EMT-P Licensure/Certification is required.
Certifications
✓Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
✓PALS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Current PHTLS certification is preferred.
Education
✓High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Qualifications
✓Experience as a Paramedic preferred. Must be proficient in English; must have the ability to read, write, and speak in English.
✓Must have and maintained a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic policy.

About the role
The Paramedic (EMT-P)'s primary responsibility is to provide initial medical contact in the triage area of the Emergency Department. This includes maintaining a safe environment and providing compassionate care to patients and family members. The EMT-P will collect blood samples and/or obtain IV access only at the request of the triage RN or the ED team leader.
