✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Active EMT-P license in good standing
Certifications
✓Must demonstrate competency in assessment of a patient, handling emergencies using Basic Life Support equipment and techniques.
✓Must be able to perform CPR, control bleeding, provide non- invasive treatment of hypo-perfusion, stabilize / immobilize injured bones and the spine, manage environmental emergencies and emergency childbirth.
✓BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required from the American Heart Association
✓Must be capable of utilizing all EMT-B and EMT-Critical Care skills and equipment
Education
✓HS Diploma or GED Equivalent required
✓Completion of a NYS Sanctioned Training Program
Qualifications
✓Must be knowledgeable and competent in the use of a cardiac monitor/defibrillator and intravenous drugs and fluids as per protocol
✓Must be able to safely lift, carry, and balance up to 150 pounds without assistance and up to 300 pounds with assistance
