Paramedic (Casual) Emergency Response - Allegheny Valley

GENERAL OVERVIEW: Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the Prehospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care. ESSENTIAL

Drives emergency or response vehicle. (20%) Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting. (50%) Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards.

(15%) Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%) Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience For Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor status Medical Command eligible PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the Paramedic level or licensed PHRN Preferred Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician.
