Schedule Full-Time: 40 Hours/Weekly This position will work a rotating 12/24 hour rotation General Summary Responds to EMS calls and performs a variety of functions related to the care and treatment of patients suffering from urgent and emergent disease and/or injury states in accordance with appropriate rules, regulations, and protocols. according to PA DOH EMS Act and scope of practice.
Responds to EMS calls, observes safety policies, and operates an emergency vehicle with due regard for others. Prepares, hangs, monitors, and administers I. V. fluids.
Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members. Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment. Responds to emergency calls as a single Advanced Life Support Provider Common Expectations: Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).
Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor, and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings. Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
Qualifications Minimum
High School Diploma or GED Required Work
1 year In busy 911 system. Required Licenses: Certified Paramedic Upon Hire Required or Certified Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required and Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire Required and Ped Adv Life Support Upon Hire Required Driver's License Statement: Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
