✓Requirements
Certifications
✓CPR, EMD, CJIS certifications must be obtained within one (1) month of hire.
✓ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.
One year of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) on an ambulance preferred.
Education
✓High School Diploma or GED required.
Qualifications
✓One year as an emergency 911 operator, or public safety or emergency medical dispatching experience required
✓Two years of experience in emergency or non-emergency telephone public contact work required.
✓Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams – internal and external to Denver Health.
✓Knowledge of Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software.
✓Knowledge of Emergency Medical Dispatch processes.
✓Ability to work independently, prioritize, and resolve problems.
✓Strong listening and recall skills, as well as the ability to multi-task.
✓All hires start at Paramedic Dispatcher 1. Career ladder progression includes job and pay advancement, upon successful completion of established training period, based on appropriate experience. Dispatcher 1: $32.18/hr - Sr. Dispatcher: $40.23/hr.

About the role

Responsible for dispatch operations, utilizing communications equipment to coordinate timely responses to medical emergencies and perform emergency medical call taking.
