Assists licensed clinical staff in providing safe, effective patient care in the Emergency Department. Provides patient care and clinical support within the scope of paramedic training, certification, applicable protocols, and regulatory requirements. Assists with emergency patient assessment, treatment, monitoring, specimen collection, transport, and documentation as directed.

Supports patient flow by preparing rooms, stocking supplies, transporting patients, and assisting with procedures as appropriate. Communicates effectively with patients, families, emergency responders, and members of the healthcare team. Maintains a clean, safe, and ready work environment by following infection prevention, safety, and departmental standards.

Documents patient care activities, observations, and interventions accurately and timely. Delivers compassionate customer service to patients and families. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to assess, treat, and care for patients to the level of certification [Required] Ability to maintain a professional and calm presence under the most critical situations [Required] Ability to determine the nature of patient conditions and assess whether patients have pre-existing medical conditions [Required] Ability to identify and treat life-threatening conditions within the paramedic's field of practice [Required] Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English [Required] Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required] Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively [Required] Must have the ability to react calmly and effectively in the most critical situations [Required] Knowledge to identify patient acuity levels [Required] Ability to utilize and adapt to state-of-the-art technology, computer systems, and computer applications [Required] Effective oral and written communication [Required] Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and others of diverse backgrounds [Required] Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast pace, high patient volume environment [Required] Strong critical thinking skills [Required]
