Job Posting Title: Patient Access Representative ILocation: Frisco - Ambulatory Surgical CenterAdditional Posting Details: Monday - Friday7:30 am - 5:00 pm, 40 hours per weekJob Description: Duties/ResponsibilitiesGreets patients/families in a professional and welcoming mannerFunctions as a liaison between patients, families, and staffPerforms scheduling and registration process for appointments within the ambulatory settingPerforms check-in and check-out for patient visitsObtains accurate collection of patient demographics, identification, insurance coverage, and other relevant informationPromotes and assists patients/families in signing up for MyChartProvides guidance to patient/families about the financial screening processAbides by organizational and HIPAA guidelines, privacy practices, patient confidentiality, and patient rightsEnsures patient receives necessary disclosure and privacy information, as well as obtains necessary legal and financial signaturesMaintains patient information and documentation in electronic medical recordSupports quality care through compliance with departmental and organizational policies and guidelines, and external agency guidelines, standards, or regulationsPerforms patient intake/referral process; appropriately scheduling patient appointments according to scheduling algorithm/protocolsMaintains and distributes incoming departmental faxesScreens and routes inbound/outbound calls in a timely manner (messages, transfers, scheduling, questions, and other needs)Scans clinical record information and correspondence into patient’s electronic recordMaintains scheduling, registration, and referral work queues in EpicPerforms scheduling of new and/or follow-up patient visits, including but not limited to diagnostic and ancillary appointments (as needed); may require coordination with clinical teamMaintains registration-related key performance indicators as determined by supervisor or managerSupports hospital and departmental performance improvement goalsSupports departmental initiatives and change effortsPractices financial and resource stewardshipEngages in strong communication, acts as team player in supporting mission and vision of organization, and abides by organization’s core valuesAdditional duties as assignedRequired Skills/AbilitiesHigh School education or equivalentPreferred 2 years working in a medical office settingPreferred experience in insurance proceduresPreferred experience in medical appointment scheduling
