Patient Access Supervisor – Full Time 1.0/Exempt
Responsible for daily supervision of the Registration Department to ensure that complete and accurate demographic, financial, and medical information is obtained. Supervises Registrars, Insurance Verification, Financial Counselor, Schedulers, Surgery and Emergency Department Registration ensuring daily functions are carried out with professionalism.
High School Diploma or Equivalent Bachelors desired.
Previous Registration experience of 5+yrs in Outpatient, Emergency Room, and Admitting required. Must have strong customer service skills and the ability to work with the public. Scheduling of 24 hour departments.
Computer knowledge including programs such as Word and Excel. Job Specific Duties: Assists with accurate and timely verification of all insurance. Assists with accurate and timely pre-registration and pre-verification of all scheduled procedures.
Assists with accuracy of all patient information collected, and completeness of patient folders. Promptly responds to staff and involves Manager to resolve departmental operational and personnel issues. Assists to ensure all staff are properly trained and competent in their area of responsibility.
Assists in communicating changes in regulatory guidelines, system functions, hospital/corporate policies and procedures, and other hospital departmental processes that will affect Registration operations. Coordinates development of objectives and performance standards for each areas of responsibility with Manager. Assists with coordination of registration and discharge of recurring patients each month.
Monitors accuracy of information. Acts a liaison between physician offices to request or provide information as needed. Assists with employee schedules and attendance records as needed.
Approves PTO based on the needs of the departments. Updates eTime daily and submits accurate time sheets to Payroll at the end of each pay period as needed. Assists in achieving POS goals.
Assists with regular quality review of registration documentation elements and holds staff accountable for error rates. Works closely with Risk to protect the hospital from exposure to bad public relations or threatened legal action due to real or perceived errors as expressed by patients. Maintains reasonable wait time in Patient Registration to ensure patients are processed and arrive at their appointments on time.
Works cooperatively with Assistant Patient Accounting Director to review and correct errors to patients records to avoid delays in billing and reimbursement. Other duties as needed and assigned.
