Education
✓High school or Equivalen (GED)
✓Associates Degree: degree in accounting prferred
Qualifications
✓Receives claims and ensures clean copy is sent to insurance company.
✓Transfers corrections onto computer system.
✓Sends claim to insurance company (electronically or via mail).
✓Maintains knowledge of current standards with insurance company and assure compliance.
✓Follows up on claims on first-time billings and takes action as appropriate.
✓Resolves discrepancies in bill payment by following up with insurance company.
✓Initiates correspondence between insurance company and patient.
✓Determines appropriate action to take (i.e., resubmitting claim, billing patient, billing secondary insurance).
✓Resolves billing issues with insurance companies, patients and physicians’ offices.
✓Follows up on correspondence with customers.
✓Initiates communication with other health system departments for clarification.
✓Responds to customer inquiries via phone and takes appropriate action.
✓Registration functions.
✓Creates an account from clinic encounters
✓Enters charges into computer system.
