Patient Account Representative

We are currently seeking a full-time Patient Account Representative to provide financial support to clients under the direction of facility management. This position will primarily be responsible for working to assist clients by applying for state and local programs to ensure the most funding available . Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (specifically Excel) is required.

The Patient Account Representative position : May review claims issues and make corrections as needed and rebill; Review explanation of benefits to ascertain that claim processed and paid correctly; Complete adjustment forms if any adjustments need to be made to an account and attach all supporting documentation; Use the state's system (COMPASS) to apply for PA MA; Use PROMISE to check the status and client's MA; Help clients obtain verifications, that they will need to qualify for MA; Do Insurance Benefit verifications; Collect copays and deductibles; other duties as assigned by management.

Monday - Friday (hours: daylight) Location: This is an onsite position Salary: Starting at $16.00/hr

• Comprehensive Benefit Package 401K + Matching Paid Holidays Paid Time Off This position requires: HS Diploma or GED Professional and courteous demeanor Working computer knowledge for emails/charting Call and status outstanding claims with third party payors.
• Review claims issues and make corrections as needed and rebill.
• Utilize claims clearing house to review and correct claims. Resubmit electronically when available.
• Review explanation of benefits to ascertain that claim processed and paid correctly.
• Complete adjustment forms if any adjustments need to be made to an account and attach all supporting documentation.
• Manage daily productivity via patient accounting system and productivity reports. Needs to maintain an average of 30-40 accounts worked per day minimum.
• Prorate patient accounts and monitor that balance due is in the correct financial class.
• Report an overview of the week to the BOD and participate in AR meetings.
• Gather and interpret data from system and understands appropriate course of action to take and initiates time-sensitive and strategic steps resulting in payment.
• Assist financial counselors as needed.
• Alert Financial Counselors and Business Office Director of all benefit eligibility matters that suggest or challenge reimbursement. . Use the State's system (COMPASS) to apply for PA MA . Must have working knowledge of all Microsoft products EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three or more years’ prior admissions and or collections experience in a hospital setting required.
