As a Patient Care Assistant Intern, you will: Receive hands-on clinical experience in a healthcare setting Work alongside experienced providers and clinical staff Learn patient care and healthcare workflow fundamentals Build skills that support future nursing and healthcare careers Contribute to a culture focused on compassion, safety, and service excellence Gain experience with electronic medical records and patient interactions Key Responsibilities As a Patient Care Assistant Intern, you will support the clinical team and assist with patient care activities, including: Assisting with patient flow and patient registration Supporting patient examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures Communicating provider instructions and patient education information Assisting with nursing assessments and care planning activities Documenting patient information and care activities in the medical record Supporting medication reconciliation and test result documentation Ensuring accurate patient care charge capture within the electronic health record Collaborating with providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals Maintaining compliance with Health System policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Education Current enrollment in a CTAE Health Science Career Program Must remain actively enrolled in the program Minimum GPA of 2.5 required Experience Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Assistant, Phlebotomist, or similar healthcare role is preferred but not required Licensure No licensure required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Sound judgment and professionalism Passion for patient care and healthcare careers Commitment to service excellence and patient safety
