You’ll need
Licensure
✓At a minimum, the PCA carries out designated skills that are within those functions of a certified nursing assistant, as defined by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
Certifications
✓BLS (Basic Life Support) must be valid for 90 days post start date from American Heart Association: “BLS Provider” or American Red Cross: “Basic Life Support” or “CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers.”
Nursing Assistant (CNA or LNA) preferred
Education
✓High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Qualifications
Completion of Block 1 in Nursing preferred
Medical Assistant (MA) preferred
6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year. preferred

About the role
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) assists nursing staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which support and complement nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. At a minimum, the PCA carries out designated skills that are within those functions of a certified nursing assistant, as defined by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
