✓Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification required
✓Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
✓Certified Orthopedic Technologist (preferred but not required).
Orthopedic or Surgical Practice certification or experience. preferred
Education
✓High School Diploma or GED required
Associate degree in Health Sciences, Medical Assisting, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
Qualifications
✓Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a physician practice, orthopedic practice, surgical coordination, care coordination, or related healthcare setting required
Experience working with total joint replacement patients. preferred
Experience with surgical scheduling and authorizations. preferred
Experience with quality improvement initiatives and patient education programs. preferred
Experience utilizing Epic or other electronic medical record systems. preferred
Knowledge of orthopedic procedures, particularly joint replacement surgery. preferred
Understanding of pre-operative and post-operative patient care processes. preferred
Strong patient education and coaching skills. preferred
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. preferred
Ability to build positive relationships with patients, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams. preferred
Strong organizational and project management skills. preferred
