Night Shift Description: We are recruiting a pharmacist to serve as shared overnight coverage for the emergency department and hospital wide emergency response, in addition to operations and clinical workflows within the inpatient pharmacy. Ideal candidates will be seeking a fast-paced environment and ability to manage critical situations. PGY1 residency or 3 years of hospital practice preferred but not required.
This will be a 7 nights on and 7 nights off position. Pharmacists at Mount Carmel St. Ann's are part of a diverse team providing exceptional patient care.

Position Purpose The Patient Care Pharmacist , within the scope of the Ohio Pharmacist Practice Act, will provide timely, accurate, cost effective, and patient-centric pharmaceutical care.
Coordinates the preparation, distribution, and dispensing of medication as appropriate in compliance with state and federal regulations and laws, accreditation standards, and departmental policies and procedures; directs and assists pharmacy support staff. Maintains personal compliance and assists in maintenance of departmental compliance with continuous regulatory readiness. Also maintains records related to the transactions of the pharmacy, to achieve adequate control and accountability for all drugs, including controlled substances.
Assists in the management of pharmacy inventory by providing information to pharmacy purchasing, removing expired contaminated or deteriorated stock when detected, helping maintain perpetual inventories, and processing non-formulary requests. Interprets, evaluates and verifies all medication orders. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team in order to assure optimal and cost effective drug therapy.
This includes adjusting drug dosing and schedules, recommending the most efficacious therapy, practicing stewardship in antibiotics, performing drug consults and monitoring, and detecting possible adverse drug reactions, food/drug interactions, drug/drug interactions, and allergic cross reactivity.
Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy required Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio.
