Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) the patient care technician (PCT) provides services related to activities of daily living. The PCT assists the nursing staff in accordance with facility policies and procedures. The PCT assists in maintaining a well organized, clean, and adequately stocked unit. Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Accompanies & actively supervises patients in activities of daily living (ADLs), appointments, & recreational activities that occur both on & off the living unit.
- Actively assists therapists & teachers with patients to provide therapeutic & / or educational activities.

Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred: bachelor's degree or college courses in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth and development LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Required:Current Driver's licenses or State issued ID. BLS certification.

Able to lift and carry 50 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Able to physically restrain patients by individual or team restraint per policy. Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Able to use a computer and/or write for extended periods of time. Hearing, vision, and emotional stability sufficient to perform essential job functions. Able to communicate in writing and verbally and to speak clearly such that others can understand.
