Nights Make an Impact with Baystate Health Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our Child & Adolescent Unit at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts . Our Child & Adolescent unit is a 110-bed and 57-bassinette hospital located within Baystate Medical Center, is the only accredited full-service children’s hospital in western Massachusetts and provides primary and advanced medical care to babies, children, and adolescents and their families.
The Children’s and Adolescents Unit sees babies and kids from birth to age 21. Work closely with child life specialists to make the child’s care the best possible. The Patient Care Technician role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives while gaining hands-on clinical experience and building a strong foundation for career growth in healthcare while working alongside a collaborative care team dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care.
The Patient Care Technician Will: Provided safe, age-appropriate patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, mobility, elimination, and personal care while promoting patient dignity and safety. Monitored and accurately documented vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other physiological parameters; promptly reported significant changes in patient condition to nursing staff. Assisted with treatments, procedures, dressing changes, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and physician examinations in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Provided one-to-one patient observation as needed, recognized changes in patient condition or safety concerns, and responded appropriately to emergency situations. Collaborated effectively with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members while maintaining clear communication, accurate documentation, and patient-centered care. As a Patient Care Technician, you’ll provide hands-on care, support patient safety and comfort, recognize important changes in condition, and work alongside nurses and the broader care team to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes. Schedule Details Job Type: Full-Time
