What does the PCT role entail? Deliver safe, hygienic, and compassionate dialysis care Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment Set up and maintain dialysis equipment Record vital signs and patient data Educate patients on treatment and kidney health Collaborate with nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other care team members Rotating Schedule of 3 to 4 day work weeks, including rotating Saturday’s with Sunday off Must be flexible to work early morning and late evening hours, starting and ending times can range from 3:45 am to 6:00 pm or later.
Average hours range from 10 to 14+ hours a day What does a successful PCT look like? High School Diploma (HSD) or GED *Please Note this is a State Requirement to obtain a Hemodialysis Certification Comfortable working around blood and needles, mixing acid or bicarb Desire to enter the healthcare field to care for other people in need Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed Ability to work in a fast paced setting as part of a team while managing multiple responsibilities at a time Healthcare experience a plus including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
