Licensure
✓The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs patient care tasks and duties which do not require a license.
✓The Patient Care Technician (PCT) works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse(s) and performs tasks and duties which do not require a license, professional judgment or intervention.
Certifications
Certification as a nursing assistant or military corpsman preferred
Education
✓Current University of Arkansas System employees, including student employees and graduate assistants, need to log in to Workday via MyApps.
✓High School Diploma/GED currently, and successful completion of patient care technician course within 3 months of hire.
Qualifications
✓Must have excellent communication skills, ability to follow oral instructions, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.
✓Must be able to lift 100 lbs. to waist height.
✓The PCT must pass the required competencies.
✓Notifies appropriate staff members of problems requiring prompt intervention.
✓Near Visual Acuity, Far Visual Acuity, Color Discrimination, Depth Perception, Peripheral Vision
✓This position is subject to pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification).
✓A criminal conviction or arrest pending adjudication alone shall not disqualify an applicant except as provided by law.
✓Any criminal history will be evaluated in relationship to job responsibilities and business necessity.
✓The information obtained in these reports will be used in a confidential, non-discriminatory manner consistent with state and federal law.

Obtains patient report and has on-going communication with R.N. regarding patient care/changes in condition; Informs nurse of patient requests or complaints. preferred
Transports patients to other areas of the hospital as directed. preferred
Carries out the Plan of Care for Patient using a Multidisciplinary Approach as Delegated by Team Leader. preferred
Accepts directions from R.N.s and team members. preferred
Follows through on delegated patient care activities. preferred
May perform other duties as assigned. preferred
