You’ll need
Certifications
✓Knowledge of insurance benefits, eligibility verification, and pre-certification processes.
✓Complete Indiana Certified Navigator training and certification within 6 months of hire and maintain active certification through annual renewal and continuing educational requirements.
Education
✓Minimum of High School Diploma.
Qualifications
✓Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience required.
✓Ability to effectively and compassionately communicate with patients regarding financial responsibilities, payment options and financial hardships.
✓Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
✓Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
✓Numeric aptitude and proficiency with a 10 key calculator.
✓Typing speeds of at least 35 WPM with accuracy.
✓Ability to work independently while contributing to a team oriented environment.
✓Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
✓Comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline driven healthcare environment.

Prior experience in a hospital, physician office or healthcare setting preferred.
Financial counseling, insurance verification or collections experience preferred.
Familiarity with Medicaid programs, Indiana preferred.
Understanding of medical terminology, CPT and ICD coding preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish) skills preferred.
