At WakeMed, our Patient Registration Representatives create a welcoming first impression for every patient. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
Greet patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals in a friendly, professional, and service-oriented manner. Accurately register patients by entering demographic, insurance, and guarantor information into the electronic medical record system. Verify insurance coverage and collect copays, deductibles, and other point-of-service payments.
Complete patient check-in and check-out processes while ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Schedule and coordinate patient appointments as needed. Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, clinical staff, and the community to facilitate a positive patient experience.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with all organizational and regulatory requirements. Provide exceptional customer service while addressing patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy. Support front office operations to ensure smooth patient flow and an outstanding patient experience.
Who We're Looking For A customer-focused professional with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working in a healthcare setting with responsibilities such as patient registration, check-in/check-out, scheduling, or front desk operations. Knowledge of medical insurance verification and point-of-service collections.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately enter and maintain patient information. Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative team player who demonstrates professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to service excellence.
