Education
✓High school graduate or equivalent required EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 1 year experience in a busy medical office required
Qualifications
✓computer proficiency required including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, internet browsing and medical practice management.
✓Knowledge of insurance company procedures and policies
✓government, legal and regulatory provisions related to collection activities
✓CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding
✓anatomy and medical terminology
✓and basic mathematics.
✓PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to function under pressure of time demands.
✓Position requires eye-hand and gross body coordination skills
✓extensive walking.
✓Position requires the ability to concentrate on details in spite of interruptions and attend to tasks for more than 30 minutes at a time.
✓Individuals must be able to understand and relate theories behind several related concepts and remember multiple tasks given over long periods of time.
✓Accurately schedules new patients and follow-up appointments
✓Obtains medical records from referring physicians and other appropriate offices/locations and files in EMR accordingly
✓Schedule procedures/tests for patients with Central Scheduling at Hospital and other facilities as ordered by the doctor and obtain insurance authorizations as necessary
✓Arrange transportation with case management for inpatient transfers.
✓Inventories and orders office supplies as necessary.
✓Secures the Department at the end of each work day
✓Promptly sets up exam room and prepares patient for physician.
✓Assist with the transfer of patients onto the CT simulator/Linac tables when requested
