You’ll need
Certifications
✓Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire.
Education
✓High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required.

✓Applicants should possess strong observation and communication skills and demonstrate the ability to remain attentive, calm, and professional while providing continuous supervision to patients.
✓Clear communication, listening, and observation skills.
✓Ability to respond swiftly to patient needs and changing situations.
✓Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, brace, and lift at a moment’s notice.
✓Ability to maintain a calm and confident manner during periods of escalation or high stress.
✓Ability to maintain composure when interacting with distressed or combative patients.
✓Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
✓Ability to work with minimal supervision while following the direction of the RN and established patient care plan.
✓Ability to work effectively in a stressful healthcare environment and take appropriate action when necessary.

About the role
Patient Sitters work closely with Registered Nurses and other members of the patient care team to provide continuous observation and help maintain a safe environment for patients requiring close supervision.
