Payroll Analyst II

✓Requirements
Education
✓Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience or training.
✓Ability to analyze and apply University of California payroll and personnel policies, bargaining unit agreements, departmental policies, and payroll procedures.
Qualifications
✓3 or more years of related experience.
✓Working knowledge of payroll processes, payroll policies, time and attendance systems, and organization-specific computer applications.
✓Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain payroll information, document resolutions, and work effectively with customers and colleagues.
✓Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity, discretion, and sound judgment.
✓Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and payroll cycles in a fast-paced environment.
✓Strong math skills, including the ability to calculate ratios, decimals, and payroll-related calculations accurately.
✓Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and payroll or time and attendance software.
✓Strong problem-solving, reasoning, and decision-making skills to resolve payroll issues accurately and appropriately.
✓Strong interpersonal and service-orientation skills to support positive working relationships with customers and colleagues.
Experience working with payroll in a hospital environment. preferred
Experience supporting payroll and leave programs across multiple bargaining unit contracts is preferred.
Working knowledge of internal payroll controls. preferred

About the role

Support accurate and timely payroll processing for a large healthcare workforce. As the Payroll Analyst, you will process payroll activity for assigned cost centers supporting approximately 1,500 to 2,500 personnel within a payroll department that supports over 14,000 Medical Center employees.
