Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla has served the greater San Diego community since 1924. Scripps La Jolla shares a campus with the Barbey Family Emergency and Trauma Center, a Level I Trauma Center, and the renowned Prebys Cardiovascular Institute. We’re also home to notable specialty programs, including cancer care, heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, labor and delivery services (including a Level III neonatal intensive care unit) and a nationally designated Comprehensive Stroke Center. This is a casual/per diem position located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.
The shifts will be 7PM to 3:30AM, 2PM to 10:30PM and some mid-day shifts. Must be able to work weekends and evenings.

Our specialties have been nationally recognized for quality in areas such as cardiovascular care, oncology, orthopedics, geriatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and gastroenterology. The PBX Operator answers calls and routine inquiries, routing to intended destination. Appropriately responds to and documents emergency situations, per policy and guidelines.
Acts as a part of a team, including training new employees. Pages physicians, security or employees as appropriate via radio, pagers, computer, or over-head PA system. Follows all documentation procedures.
Completes additional task such as sorting and mailing messages during downtime, delivering messages to physician offices and completing and distributing daily sheets. Required Education/Experience/Specialized
Strong customer service skills, computer skills, and ability to work in fast pace environment using repetitive hand motion with the ability to multi-task. Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: Health care experience, and Call Center/PBX experience.
