Blank Children's Hospital, a service of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, is completely dedicated to meeting the unique health care needs of children. Blank Children's is a 108-bed environment that embraces and encourages families to be a part of their child's healing and recovery. Everything from equipment to decor is designed specifically for children.
Responsibilities The role: Provide comprehensive primary care to pediatric patients in an outpatient setting Conduct routine wellness exams, acute care visits, and developmental screenings Coordinate care with pediatric specialists Educate families on wellness, nutrition, safety, and preventive care Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical team meetings The clinic: Established team of 8 physicians and 4 advanced practitioners Established, growing outpatient practice serving the Des Moines community from within the walls of Blank Children’s Hospital Cohesive group of colleagues and supportive staff allowing for autonomy while building the practice according to your preferences Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who know the patients and the community Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access 24/7 dedicated pediatric hospitalist program is responsible for pediatric inpatients and newborn nursery Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination Qualifications MD/DO Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt) We offer: Initial 2-year salary guarantee with ability to exceed on an innovative compensation program Attractive incentive package A competitive Total Rewards program offers benefits that align with your needs and priorities, no matter what stage of life you are in.
