Certifications
✓Completion of state or nationally recognized Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification training within 90 days of hire date .
✓WV: Substance Use Disorder Peer Recovery Certification (PRSS-SUD) through the West Virginia Certification Board for Addiction and Prevention Professionals (WVCBAPP)
✓MD: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) through the Maryland Addiction & Behavioral-Health Professionals Certification Board
✓Certificate of completion of the CCAR Recovery Coaching in the Emergency Department.
Education
✓High School Diploma or E quivalent
Qualifications
✓State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas
✓Valid Driver’s License
✓Active participation in the recovery for two or more years and current active attendance at community recovery meetings.
✓Knowledge of treatment resources including a working knowledge of the 12-Step Fellowships.
✓Ability to comply with WVU Medicine, WVU Research Corporation, UHA, and Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry safety procedures
✓Completion of HIPAA training and compliance (to be completed upon hire, with refresher courses as determined by administration).
