LOCATION : Maluhia | Nursing POSITION STATUS : FTE: 30% | Per Diem SALARY RATE: $61.52 (Hourly) Effective 7/1/26 JOB DUTIES : The Per Diem Nurse coordinates nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with other staff and departments in maintaining standards of nursing care; follows established policies, procedures or specific instructions. Position is exempt from Civil Service. *The incumbent of this position may provide services at Leahi Hospital.
THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE: Applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated; the required education and experiences may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experiences are based on a 40-hour work week.
Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. While not required, graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is highly desirable.
One (1) year of professional nursing work experience, where the employee independently provided nursing care to patients in a clinic, hospital, or institution. CERTIFICATION: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon employment.
Possession of a current license to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Hawaii.
