You’ll need
Licensure
✓Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required
Certifications
✓Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
✓Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
Education
✓Associate degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program
Qualifications
✓Knowledge of current respiratory care practices, therapies, equipment, and clinical standards
✓Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and pulmonary function testing
✓Proficiency in the setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting of respiratory equipment, including noninvasive ventilation, home ventilators, cough-assist devices, airway clearance systems, and aerosolized medication delivery devices
✓Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
✓Ability to provide patient and caregiver education in a clear, compassionate, and professional manner
✓Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
✓Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, maintain accurate documentation, and meet established deadlines
Experience working with patients with neuromuscular disorders or chronic respiratory diseases preferred
Outpatient clinic experience preferred
