Highlights: Day Shift Summary Under the direction of the Surgeon, the Perfusionist shall be responsible for the safe operation of the heart-lung machine.

The Perfusionist is also responsible for the safe operation of extracorporeal circulation and autotransfusion equipment during any medical situation where it is necessary to support or temporarily replace the patient's circulatory or respiratory function. In addition, the Perfusionist is responsible for the management and inventory of perfusion cannula and supplies necessary for extracorporeal circulation. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
