✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Current perfusion licensure through the Texas Medical Board , or eligibility to obtain Texas licensure, required.
Certifications
✓New graduates must have a provisional license contingent upon successfully passing the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) examination and must successfully complete the examination within 12 months of hire to qualify for Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) credentials.
✓American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion certification or certification eligibility required.
✓Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an American Heart Association-accredited course required.
Education
✓Graduate of an accredited School of Perfusion required.
✓Bachelor’s degree in a recognized field of science or learning directly related to the duties of the position required.
Qualifications
✓Fundamental knowledge and skills in the use of perfusion and surgical equipment required.
✓Strong knowledge of anatomy and surgical technology required.
✓Excellent technical dexterity and attention to detail.
✓Ability to remain calm and focused during emergency situations and lengthy procedures.
✓Strong commitment to clinical quality and achieving the best possible outcomes for patients.
✓Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
✓Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

What you’ll do
Provide perfusion support forProvide perfusion support for adult cardiac and surgical procedures requiring extracorporeal circulation
Prepare, assemble, operate, andPrepare, assemble, operate, and monitor perfusion and related surgical equipment
Monitor patient and equipmentMonitor patient and equipment parameters throughout procedures and respond appropriately to changes or abnormal situations
Work collaboratively with physiciansWork collaboratively with physicians and the multidisciplinary surgical team to support excellent patient outcomes
Maintain a strong focusMaintain a strong focus on clinical quality, patient safety, and adherence to established standards and procedures
