✓Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN required, with current Iowa license.

Qualifications
✓Computer skills required.
✓Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information. Provider order entry. Schedules patient flow through the Perioperative Department.
✓Maintains unit operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
✓Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
✓Must be able to operate on-line input terminal
✓Must have good time management, organization, attention to detail, quality focused, and demonstrate professionalism
✓Assist with maintaining the surgeon block schedule.
✓Assist with the rooming of patients as needed
✓Assist with call lights as needed.
✓Uses the nursing process in providing care to the surgical patient from the pre-operative phase through recovery.
✓Assures the proper pre-op work-up is completed by the time of surgery.
✓Communicates pertinent information to the other staff members and the physician as required.
✓Maintains a clean, safe and sterile field.
✓Functions as an ACU , circulating or recovery nurse as directed by the Perioperative Nurse Manager or Assistant Perioperative Nurse Manager.
✓Administers medications and IV solutions as prescribed.
✓Recognizes life threatening or adverse conditions and responds appropriately.
✓Follows the established procedures to receive, clean, prepare and disinfect/sterilize supplies.
✓Handles infectious waste according to hospital policy.
One-year experience in a health center, physician’s office or similar medical facility preferred.
