You’ll need
Licensure
✓Current registration with the Board of Pharmacy where required by state regulation.
Certifications
✓or proof of successful completion of a certified drug abuse rehabilitation program is required.
✓National Pharmacy Technician Certification
Education
✓Completion of an approved vocational Pharmacy Technician training program and at least six months of applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Qualifications
✓or at least eighteen months of applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
✓Effectively reads, writes, speaks and understands English.
✓Proven history of effectively performing technical tasks and following written / verbal instructions.
✓Able to apply math and calculator skills along with a working knowledge of the metric system.
✓Possess strong telephone and verbal communication skills.
✓Experience with the use of office software computer applications and keyboarding.
✓Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and pay attention to detail.
✓Proven organizational and problem solving skills.
✓Proven ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment.
✓Completion of post-secondary education preferred. No history of drug abuse or misuse

About the role
Assists the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patient. Gathers, labels and distributes medications accurately and efficiently. Packages, prepares and safely compounds medications including hazardous substances accurately and efficiently.
