You’ll need
Licensure
✓Licensed by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician, Heartsaver CPR (HSCPR or HSFACPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Certifications
✓National pharmacy technician certification from either Pharmacy Tech Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam of Certified Pharmacy Techs (ExCPT) required within one (1) year of hire.
Education
✓High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Qualifications
✓Required: Four (4) years of pharmacy technician experience
✓Due to insurance company requirements, incumbent must be 21 years of age or older, due to incremental use of a company car.
✓Valid Arizona driver’s license.
✓Skill in responding to customers’ questions or concerns.
✓Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, patients and/or their representatives, and the general public.
✓Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
✓Knowledge of pharmaceutical practices and procedures and regulations involving the administering of medications.
✓Knowledge of medicine terminology.
✓Knowledge of medication reconciliation &/or adjudication process.
✓Skill in communicating both orally and in writing.
✓Skill in compounding and processing prescriptions.
✓Skill in training and guiding staff.
✓Skill in evaluating performance and making recommendations for improvement.
✓Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
✓Ability to listen and accurately interpret others’ communication or instructions to take appropriate action.
✓Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
✓Ability to calculate figures and compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
At least 1-2 years of related outpatient/retail pharmacy experience (order processing, prescription adjudication, third party problem resolution, customer service). preferred

About the role
Performs patient and/or caregiver interviews to obtain dose and frequency of current medications including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements
