Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pmResponsible for the provision of distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks. This position assists the pharmacist with preparing and dispensing medications, inventory management, pharmacy billing, customer service, and regulatory compliance. This role accurately responds to prescription dispensing requests, coordinates medication access and adherence, prepares medications for pharmacist review, performs claim adjudication, and processes customer account reconciliation.

Submits claims, follows up on denials, and ensures proper reimbursement. Provides answers to patient questions and addresses patient concerns. Contacts prescribers’ office regarding clarification on missing prescription information and prescription coverage details, keeping the patient informed during the process.

Assists pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications. Actively performs pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in pharmacy specific computer systems and operational programs. Performs data entry tasks by inputting prescription information into the pharmacy system.

Processes claims adjudication and copay assistance billing for new prescription orders and refill requests, ensuring appropriate National Drug Code (NDC) selection and shipping method are selected at the time of dispense. 1+ year of pharmacy technician experience, in a retail pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, central fill, or hospital setting [Required] ORCompletion of a pharmacy technician student internship at AdventHealth in a retail or hospital setting, in lieu of pharmacy technician experience. [Required]Previous experience in a managed healthcare organization, medical insurance company, pharmacy benefit management or other healthcare related entity.
