Licensure
✓Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
✓Registration with the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a “Certified Pharmacy Technician” or eligible for registration within 45 days of hire.
Certifications
✓Certified pharmacy technician, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, engage in the following activities to the extent that the activities do not require the exercise of professional judgment:
Education
✓Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED
Completion of an ASHP/ACPE-accredited technician education and training program preferred
Qualifications
✓Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience
✓Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills
✓Able to read and write printed material in English
✓Proficiency with computer keyboard operations
✓Ability to compute simple algebraic ratios, volume/volume percentage and weight/volume percentage
✓Ability to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy. Must be familiar with pharmacy software
✓Possess ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as team member
✓Flexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers
Prior hospital, long-term care or retail experience preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred
