All functions related to prescription legend drug and controlled substance inventory control, documentation, and record keeping. Billing of medications not ordered through Pyxis (i.e., code cart medications). Non-sterile compounding.
Entering data into the computer database for prepackaging. Comply with hospital confidentiality and privacy laws and rules. Prepare, package, and label drugs as permitted by the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
While under the direct supervision of the pharmacist, perform any other mechanical, technical, or administrative tasks which do not themselves constitute practice of pharmacy. Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent PLUS State certification.
Pharmacy technician program with certification; experience preferred. Experience preferred or will train if applicant is conscientious and communicates a desire to learn. Registered by State of Florida and certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board OR Current Pharmacy Intern License State of Florida.
