✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Current Oregon Pharmacy Technician License required.
✓Candidates who are not currently licensed with an Oregon Pharmacy Technician License may initially be hired into a Pharmacy Clerk position while working toward obtaining their Pharmacy Technician license.
✓Upon successful licensure, the employee will be transitioned into the Pharmacy Technician role.
Certifications
✓Must obtain and maintain national certification through either the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) within one year of being hired into the Pharmacy Technician position.
Qualifications
✓Strong typing proficiency and computer skills
✓Ability to adapt to new systems, procedures, and work environments
✓High level of accuracy and attention to detail
✓Solid clerical and administrative skills
✓Effective organizational skills with the ability to complete assigned tasks and projects
✓Ability to compound sterile products in accordance with established procedures
✓Excellent customer service skills and experience
✓Working knowledge of medical terminology
✓Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
✓Long periods of standing.
✓Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 30 pounds).
✓May be required to sit for extended periods of time.
✓Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers
✓and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment
Prior experience as a hospital pharmacy technician is desirable. preferred
