You’ll need
Licensure
✓Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician License validated by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
✓Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by PTCB or National Healthcareer Certification within 2 years of initial licensure or within 2 years of hire, if the original date of Illinois Pharmacy Technician license is prior to January 1, 2008.
Education
✓Education: At least 16 years of age and is attending or graduated from an accredited high school or comparable school or educational institution or GED
✓Within 90 days of hire, must enroll in an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program through Guild and complete at least 25% of the didactic coursework.
✓Alternatively, may meet this requirement by providing documentation of one of the following: Completion of a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
Experience: At least 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent 1 year pharmacy experience. preferred
Qualifications
✓Within 2 years of hire or license (whichever comes first), must complete the program.
✓Verification, signed by a pharmacist-in-charge from previous employment, of at least 500 hours of equivalent pharmacy technician work experience covering practice areas required by the Illinois Pharmacy Practice Act.
✓Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
✓Other requirements/information: Demonstrates ability to perform and apply arithmetic calculations.
