Pharmacy Technician

POSITION

• Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the pharmacy technician shall assist in preparing patient medications for registered patients and outpatients as well as perform other tasks relating to the receipt, charging and delivery of pharmacy services. REPORTS TO: . Pharmacy Manager CUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma.
• Excellent computer/typing skills
• Demonstrates ability to multi task
• 1-2 years experience as a pharmacy technician (preferred) DUTIES AND

• Stores drugs under proper conditions of refrigeration and control.
• Rotates all stock.
• Prices all drug charges on patient profiles and credits all returns.
• Assists pharmacist in filling drug orders and medication carts.
• Responsible for housekeeping duties in the pharmacy and drug storage area monthly.
• Assist pharmacist in inventory control by reporting when stock is low as drugs are removed from stock shelf.
• Receives and prices supplies as they are purchased.
• Maintains drugs stocked in Medication Carts.
• Assists pharmacist in maintenance of records of control drugs and narcotics.
• Must keep pharmacy neat and orderly.
• Check floor stock daily and replenish it.
• Delivers medication to nursing units.
• Prepackages medication under the pharmacist's supervision and maintains control records.
• Fills out and maintains patient profiles under the pharmacist's supervision.
• Assists the pharmacist in performing pharmacy related duties as necessary.
