Indiana University Health Foundation is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Central Office team in the role of Philanthropy Services Officer – Intermediate. We are seeking a data driven, analytically curious, and service oriented philanthropy professional to join the IU Health Foundation's prospect development and research function.
Day to day work is roughly a 50 to 60 percent split between standing deliverables, monthly dashboards, pipeline metrics, portfolio reviews and ad hoc requests from fundraisers and leadership that require nimble, accurate, and insightful responses. The ideal candidate has genuine experience in the philanthropy research discipline, is comfortable in data heavy environments, and brings a service minded, solutions focused approach to partnering with development officers across the Foundation.

Full time, Monday – Friday, hybrid Location : Indianapolis, IN The Scope: This role advances the prospect development and research function for IU Health Foundation, including: Conducting proactive prospect research using internal sources (patient and clinical feeds) and external tools (iWave, DonorSearch) to assess giving capacity and inclination Applying scoring and portfolio assignment criteria to balance and optimize fundraiser portfolios based on capacity and inclination alignment Managing and enhancing the automated patient feed methodology in Salesforce that flags eligible patients for compliant and appropriate philanthropic outreach Building and maintaining dashboards and reports that give leadership and development officers real time visibility into pipeline health and prospect prioritization Producing focused portfolio review materials that support strategic conversation and effective decision making Responding to ad hoc reporting requests from fundraisers and leadership Collaborating closely with two data team colleagues on ongoing Salesforce optimization and related platform improvements Refining research and reporting workflows, strengthening team standards, and maintaining policies that reflect best practices as new tools and predictive modeling capabilities come online Reporting monthly metrics to leadership Candidate Qualifications Candidates for this position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
Bachelor's Degree is required. Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience. Requires working knowledge of fundraising software (i.e.
Raiser's Edge, Salesforce). Familiarity with prospect research tools such as iWave and DonorSearch preferred; Requires proficiency in MS office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Experience with a matrix organization and complex work environment is preferred.
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills required; ability to translate data into actionable insights for fundraisers and leadership. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required The “DNA” for Success Data Driven and Analytically Minded: You are energized by data, comfortable in Salesforce and reporting environments, and know how to turn numbers into meaningful insights that fundraisers can act on.

Process Minded and Innovative: You do not just run the existing workflow - you look for ways to make it better, strengthen standards, and build reporting tools that are actually useful.
Detail Oriented and Accurate: Patient feed management, portfolio assignment criteria, and dashboard reporting all require precision. You catch errors early. Collaborative and Communicative: You work closely with two data team colleagues and partner regularly with fundraisers across the Foundation.
You communicate insights clearly, even to audiences who are not data native. Adaptable: The split between standing work and ad hoc requests means no two weeks look exactly the same. You stay organized, flex easily, and bring the same quality to request number ten as you did to request number one.
